Nicola Eimer

Opening with the breath taking whirl of Smetana’s popular Bartered Bride overture the Oxford Symphony Orchestra summer concert features new generation pianist Nicola Eimer. Described by The Strad as “already an outstanding artist”, she plays Shostakovich’s joyous and extrovert second piano concerto with its romantic slow movement and foot tapping tuneful finale.

The orchestra concludes the concert and its 2009-2010 season with Berlioz’s dramatic and tuneful story of passion and opium induced hallucination - the spectacular and vividly orchestrated five movement Symphonie Fantastique.
